DV Silicone Grease 250 gm  NEW PRODUCT    Click for M.S.D.S.

See BONUS at bottom of Page!

DV Silicone Grease, is a white, almost odourless, non-toxic, water-based, corrosion inhibitor, silicone emulsion and was produced because of a need for a non-flammable type of silicon grease.

There are many silicone greases available but those tested ignite quickly when in contact with a naked flame. Once ignited these compounds burn intensely. This is not surprising because of the high oxygen content of silicone compounds. The feature is not desirable in a material which may come into contact with naked flame or electrical circuits, which may be prone to arcing and the need to be able to honestly declare the product as non-hazardous for transport purposes especially air transport. DV Silicone Grease will later be made available in several types for specialised purposes.

NOTE  that if the grease is allowed to stand exposed to ambient conditions, it will slowly return to the original flammable state of the base materials as the water content evaporates, therefore to maintain non-flammability, keep the container closed. Maximum working temperature for the emulsified grease should be less than 100 deg. C. and should be not more than 200 deg. C. for dehydrated grease.

Although DV Silicone Grease is an aqueous emulsion, it renders surfaces to which it is applied, water proof and highly corrosion resistant. The Grease does not dry out, even if all of the water is lost, but adheres to surfaces as a lubricating anti corrosive film in exposed or enclosed areas. It can also be used to buff up some metallic and porous surfaces leaving a corrosion protection film. It is especially effective on copper, bronze and brass surfaces clean or oxidised. A version for enclosed spaces of ferrous metal construction is under development.
